HQSC Improvement Learning Community

The goal of this feature is to drive competency in key Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QI/PS) topics by fostering a community of practice. A piece of educational QI/PS media is chosen, reviewed in an online journal club fashion, and used to create an active educational module that is delivered at our monthly HQSC meetings. The resources are available below.

A primer on leading the improvement of systems

BMJ Perspective article by Don Berwick on leading positive change in healthcare systems. The article was reviewed by the HQSC co-chairs & their key 'take-aways' were used to inspire the associated powerpoint introducing folks to the HQSC's central value statements.

An article on an A3 Project Form & Associated Process/Thinking for healthcare improvement. The article was discussed by co-chairs and key points were incorporated into the associated powerpoint, activity, and the project management mindset of the council. 

The information on the Model for Improvement linked here was also used to inspire the module's content.
